Kent Hale has been active practicing law in the areas commercial and consumer law. This representation has included transactional matters, creditors rights, creditor bankruptcy and most aspects of the Uniform Commercial Code. Mr. Hale has a varied practice representing lenders and leasing companies in the areas of financing and leasing of personal property and real estate. Likewise, Mr. Hale has represented ranchers, farms, cotton merchants, and agri-business in various commercial transactions to enforce and protect their interests. Mr. Hale in the area of commercial and consumer law has represented manufacturers, retailers, sellers, and financers of products defending them from Deceptive Trade Practice claims, breach of warranty claims, and finance code claims. The types of business industries have included heavy equipment, motor vehicles, recreational vehicles, manufactured housing, cattle, cotton, and other agri-business industries.
Mr. Hale in State Bar duties was on the Consumer Law Section Council for nine (9) years; as well as serving on the Consumer Law Certification Committee and Consumer Law Exam Committee. Mr. Hale was recently appointed by the Texas Supreme Court to the Task Force to review and recommend revisions to the Ancillary Rules section of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Mr. Hale has also lectured to various State Bar groups in the areas of consumer and commercial law.
